Description

Depending on the realities of your pharmacy, our team will help you optimize delegation to technical staff while complying with the ethical obligations set out by the OPQ.

Pharmacy Technical Assistance (French only)

Whether you’re just starting your career or have several years of experience, the Pharmacy Technical Assistance course will enable you to acquire new or updated knowledge of the role of a pharmacy technical assistant.

Each of the six online modules has been designed to help pharmacy technical assistants quickly put into practice what they’ve learned.

Module 1
- Familiarizing yourself with the organization and workstations.
- Acquiring the basics of communication with patients and health care professionals.

Module 2
- Understanding how prescription drug insurance works in Quebec.
- Learning how to manage priorities and the confidential dispensing of medications in a pharmacy.

Module 3
- Knowing the categories of drugs, their legal status and their standardized preparation.
- Acquiring essential skills in drug reconstitution, pillbox management and compounding.

Module 4
- Understanding inventory management, stock shortages and recalls as well as the principles of safe drug destruction.

Module 5
- Analyzing prescriptions and mastering the basics of pharmaceutical calculations and billing codes.

Module 6
- Developing the skills needed to support patient care in accordance with current legislation (Bill 31 and Bill 41).
